Owner, James Werdel, grew up on this land, with an abiding respect for his home terrain and a hunger for the hunt and the hunting culture that is in his blood. Coming from a long line of ranchers, the young James would anxiously get through his school day and race through his homework and chores as quickly as possible so that he could grab his rifle and head out to spend whatever daylight was left hunting and trapping whatever was in season.
It was only natural that he would grow up to build a lodge on this land that opens up the same opportunities he had his whole life to generations of hunters to come. Now, James shares his love of the rugged outdoors, his passion for the hunt, and his dream of growing and nourishing the hunting community with like minded folk across the globe. His keen knowledge of this particular wildlife and its habitat is what makes JP Denmark a genuine hunting retreat.
